Basketball Coach let's angry parent coach after halftime, parent wins the game
Karene stanford watches from the stands before she coaches the team to victory

New Orleans, Louisiana | The James Johnson high school basketball team has achieved a historic victory under the guidance of an unexpected coach: an irate parent. Karene Stanford was given the reins by the team's basketball coach after angrily yelling at the coach, referees and fellow parents.

According to sources close to the team, Coach Kater decided the parent knew what the team needed to win the game after losing 32-16 at halftime. In a desperate move, the coach called upon Karene to coach the game after halftime. When asked about the unusual coaching situation, the coach stated “I could hear the parent’s passion for the game from the sideline, and it’s well known that parents are more knowledgeable in coaching than we are. It’s time we give them a chance to take the reins and really take our players to the next level.”

To the surprise of everyone, Karene stepped up to the challenge and led the team to a resounding victory, using unorthodox coaching techniques such as “Run!”, “Pass the Ball!” and encouraging the players to "Shoot the ball."

When asked about the unusual coaching situation after the game, Coach Kater praised Karene's efforts, saying, "I would have never thought to try this tactic, but it clearly worked. Sometimes fresh ideas can really make a difference."

However, not everyone was thrilled with the outcome of the game. Some parents and community members expressed concern that allowing a non-professional to coach a high school team could set a dangerous precedent and undermine the authority of trained coaches.

Fellow parent Jason Charles was interviewed after the game asking an important question, “What’s next? Do we let a janitor perform surgery?

Many are questioning the coach’s decision, and some are asking for his resignation. Despite the controversy, the team and its new honorary coach are basking in the glow of their victory. Karene is reportedly already receiving offers from other teams to coach their games, while Coach Kater is considering allowing more parents the opportunity to demonstrate their superior knowledge of the sport. Overall, the lesson is evident that angry, yelling parents in the stands should be given more opportunities to coach the team.

“Sometimes you have to think outside the box” he said. If that means letting a parent coach the game then so be it.
